Rr OSMAN was a kind and gentle monarch,
who loved his people as if they were his
children, and he was a happy prince, who might be
envied, for surely no mortal ever possessed so many
friends as he did. His ‘subjects called him their
friend ‘and brother; every one had vowed to him
