I första och andra personen är possessivet oföränderligt;
i tredje pers. rättar det sig, likasom i svenskan, efter egarens
kön. De tre formerna af det personliga pronom. i tredje
personen motsvara äfven re fi ex i v formerna sin, sitt, sina i svenskan.

I engelskan nyttjas ofta ett. possessivt pronomen, der man i
svenskan nyttjar best. artikel, såsom då fråga är om någon
kroppsdel, klädespersedel eller dylikt, t. ex.

Charles has lost llis hat, Karl har förlorat hatten (ell. sin hatt)..
