Tranberg.
The following Pages contain a Translation of Doct. MARTIN LUTHER’S shorter
Catechism into English from the High-Dutch and Sweed-Languages, for the Use of young
People and Children educated in the Lutheran Congrégations, and have been compared
with the Original by us the Subscribers.

The Reverend Peter Tranberg deceased, of late Minister of the Swedish Lutheran
Church at Willmington, gives his Approbation of said Translation in a Letter to a Friend
as follows:
I have compared Doct, MARTIN LUTHERs short Catechism with that of our Sweed,
and find it to be well done; for unless you deviate from the short Method and true Sense
of the Original, it can not be brought into better English. I have made bold to make
few Amendments. And that the God of Peace may so inlighten the innocent Readers,
that they once may grow so strong in Faith as our ever mémorable Author was, is
wished and pragyed for from the inner Part of his Heart, by
Sir

Innehållet utgöres af katekesens fem hufvudstycken med frågor och
svar samt hänvisningar till resp. bibelställen. I slutet (från s. 321) finnas
