denna punkt dock kunde tolkas såsom uttryckande

nature and nations, and when you please to let us know any
parti-culars, such direction will be given therein as shall be just, and we
do not doubt but to receive a due reciprocation from you. For what
concerns the specification of contrabande goods and the form of
passports which the ships on both sides should be obliged to carry, we
do judge it a matter very serious and deserving very mature
conside-ration, least whilst endeavours are used to avoid inconveniences on
the one hand, greater evils are introduced on the other hand, yet
we shall be ready to confer with you upon what shall be offered to
us upon this subject. And as touching .... soldiers in Scottland,
