Copenhagen.
HE road from Elfinore for near five miles is exceed-
ingly rough and ill-made, though the beft materials
are to be found within halfa mile. When you come
from the Sea coaft, to, what is called, the King’s road, it

of that fine gravel which is a moft excellent covering to
the Swedifh roads. Upon your entering the great road,
the Eye feldom or never wants entertainment till you ar~
rive at Copenhagen. The diftant and nearer views are
equally amufing, The country isrich, fertile, and lux-
uriantly embellifhed with villages, delightful gardens, tea-
drinking places, &c. Copenhagen is a handfome well
built town, and notwithf{tanding its difadvantageous fitua-
tion, which isin a flat. marfhy» country, yet is there a
magnificent appearance in moftof the ftructures. “The
King’s Palace: efpecially has a diftinguifhing royalty
