Yi uppmana derför till en liten täflan för detta ändamål,
vare sig i form af öfversättning eller bearbetning i bunden
form.
Täflingsförsöken böra i försegladt kuvert ocb försedda
med signatur eller motto insändas till E.ed:n af Dagny inom
nästkommande januari månad. Professor Viktor Rydberg bar
godhetsfullt lofvat, att de få underställas bans bedömande,
hvarefter det möjligen godkända täflingsstycket torde komma
att meddelas i februarihäftet af Dagny.

Like a little crumpled rose leaf
It lies ön my boso-m now,
Like a tiny sunset clondlet,
Like a flake of rose-tinted snoiv.
And the pretty, helpless fingers
Are never a moment at rest,
But ev er are moving and straying
Äbout ön the mather’s brcast,
Trying to grasp the simbeam
That streams from the window high,
Trying to eateh the white garments
Of the ängels hovering by.
And as she pats and caresses
The dear little lovely hand,
The mathers thoughts go forward
Toward the future’s shadowy land;
And ever her anxious vision
Strives to pierce each coming year,
With a mother’s heiglit of rapture,
With a mollier’’s depth of fear,
As she thinks, "In the years that are coming,
Be th ey many or be th ey few,
What ivork is the good God sending
For this little hand to do?
Will it altvays be open in giving,
