Ihr naht euch wieder, schwankende Gestalten!
Die früh sich einst dem trüben Blick gezeigt.
Viktor Rydberg (1828-1895) was one of Sweden's most important authors in the 19th century, between Almqvist and Strindberg. The novel De vandrande djäknarne constitutes the former half of volume III of fourteen in Skrifter av Viktor Rydberg ("collected works"), which appeared in the decades following the author's death, edited by Karl Warburg (1852-1918). This collection was sold in numerous editions, and other, smaller collections with similar names were also sold. Find an overview in our presentation of this Nordic Author.
The latter half of volume III is another novel, Singoalla, which Project Runeberg has chosen to present as a separate electronic edition. The two works in volume III carry separate edition designations. A copy printed in 1915 was used for digitization, containing the 5th edition of De vandrande djäknarne.
The 161 pages are presented in facsimile in 120 dpi grayscale,
combined with unprocessed, "raw" text from optical character
recognition (OCR). If you volunteer to proofread any part of this
work, and e-mail your results to the editors of Project Runeberg,

available as a parallel to the facsimile edition.
