What large buildings are
those? — The one on the right
is a theatre, and the one on
the left is a bank. — What
very fine buildings they are.
14. The Weather.
It is a fine (dull) day
(morning, afternoon, evening). The
sun is shining. It is very hot
to walk in the sun, it is much
cooler in the shade.
I am wet through with
perspiration. Take off your
overcoat and hat. May I carry your
coat for you? — Thank you.
Are you not very hot too? —
No, I like the heat (the hot
weather). I feel nice and warm.
— Look at the thermometer.
It is 35 degrees in the shade.
It looks as if we shall have
a storm. It looks like rain.
It is getting very cloudy. The
sky is almost black. It is
lightening. It will soon begin
to rain. It is raining now. It
was raining all day yesterday.
It has been raining all the week.
I must take my umbrella and
my galoshes. Put on your
mackintosh. Let me help you
(give you a lift). The rain
will soon be over. The
barometer is rising (falling).
The weather is very
changeable. It is hailing to-day,
