Anglicismer: She is in her teens = i åldern mellan 13 och
19 år (thirteen-nineteen). The first two chapters = de två första

29. Af grundtal eller ordningstal bildas:
1) Distributiv (fördelningstal) genom sammanställning af grundtal
eller ordningstal med every, t. ex. every three days, eller: every third day, hvar tredje dag; every four years; every hundred feet. – Jfr äfven 28 b): by twos (l. two and two), två i sänder o. s. v.
2) Mångfaldighetstal på fold, t. ex. threefold, trefaldig, fourfold, fivefold, sixty fold o. s. v. Jämte de på fold begagnas några från latinet härstammande, näml.: single, enkel, double, triple (treble}.
Anm. Mer sällan brukas: quadruple (fyrfaldig), quintuple, sextuple, septuple, octuple, decuple (tiofaldig), centuple (hundrafaldig).
3) Räkneadverb: once (en gång), twice (två gånger), </i>thrice</i> l. three times (tre gånger), four times, five times o. s. v.; firstly (vanl. first l. in the first place), för det första, secondly (in the second place), thirdly (in the third place) o. s. v.; däremot endast: in the eleventh (twelfth etc.) place.
Anm. The first (second etc.) time, första (andra etc.) gången. I saw him for the first time last night. I was desirous to see him once more (ännu en gång). You would be as happy again if etc. =
dubbelt så lycklig, om –.
4) Bråktalen, t. ex. a (one) half, 1/2; a third, 1/3; a fourth, 1/4;
a fifth, 1/5; two thirds, 2/3; three sevenths, 3/7; nine hundredths, 9/100;
seventeen twenty fourths, 17/24 o. s. v. (Ibland äfven: a third part,
1/3; two third parts, 2/3; three seventh parts, 3/7 o. s. v.)
Amn. 1. Vid benämnda tal heter 1/4 a quarter, t. ex. a quarter of a year,</i> 1/4 år. Märk: half a year, 1/2 år; a year and a half, 1 1/2 år; three hours and a quarter, 3 1/4 timme; four miles and three quarters, 4 3/4 mil; <i>three inches and a quarter long,<7i> 3 1/4 tum lång; two pounds of cheese and a half, 2 1/2 mark ost (bråket alltid efter det benämnda talet).
Anm. 2. "Enahanda", af två (tre o. s. v.) slag, uttryckes med
subst. kind, l. sort, t. ex. Four kinds of roses. All sorts of people.
