sible repetition of what took place last month, and as no
explanation of the insulting procedure has yet reached me I cannot of
course be present tomorrow.1 I would have preferred making this
communication officially to the Direction, but not knowing whether
in the case complained of you acted as President of the Society
and on behalf of the Directors, or merely on your own
responsibility I do not wish to compromise you, and have only to request
that you will cause to be inserted in the minute the reason for my
absence from the two meetings of Direction now referred to, that
I may before the Society when the proper time comes, be saved
the imputation of having neglected a positive and in my estimation
very serious duty. A day is coming when even your honest though
I venture to say unfounded prejudice will give way before the light
of truth, meantime believe me

Vän och Broder!
Näst före sistl. Julhelg skref jag till Studer. A. Wiberg. Men
då jag derå icke erhållit svar, och börjar frukta, det brefvet
förkommit, kanske emedan adressen, deri jag titulerade honom »Magister»^
icke var riktig, tager jag mig friheten, då jag känner att I ären
med hvarandra bekanta, sända på dig inneslutna, med vänlig
anmodan, att du, vid tjenligt tillfälle, ville tillställa Wiberg detsamma.
Med samma får jag försäkra dig, att mitt dröjsmål med
afläggande af en skyldig tacksägelse för den mig tillsända Brochuren,
ingalunda härleder sig af ett otacksamt hjerta. Den emottogs och
värderas som ett nytt prof af din vänskap och förtroende. Tack
Broder! för den tryckta gåfvan. — Hvad dess innehåll beträffar,
säger jag derom detsamma, som en Bonde svarade mig i ett
husförhör. Jag hade neml. efter dess slut i något strängare ordalag
gifvit ungdomen ett särskilt förebråelse för dess lättsinniga och
oordentliga uppförande. Märkande, huru en och annan af gubbarna
