her own, consisting of a council of 60 men, 30 clergymen and 30 laymen.
This council, which should assemble every five years, would have to
discuss and determine all the matters of the Church. The Government
would nevertheless have to confirm or disapprove what the council
proposes. As this change is not yet decided upon, I may speak more of
it another time.

In the course of the last year, a Missionary Institution has been
organized and begun its activity. There are already fourteen young
Christian men in it, who are to be prepared for their holy call, to go

prayer-meetings every day. So I must finish, and recommend us to your love
in the Lord; but, above all, you and us and all the people of the Lord
to the care of the great Shepherd.

Most warmly yours, in the love of the Lord,

C. O. Rosenius.

me. But now I have a little more leisure, I hasten to give you some
news from our land, hoping this will interest you in the same degree,
as your Christian zeal for the progress of the kingdom of Christ has
remained unshaken by the storms within the kingdoms of this earth, as
I have been told by the newspapers, have shaken even New York.

As to my own work, it goes on in the same way as before, and I
have been very glad to see that it is not always without fruit. During
this last winter we have had the joy of seeing a few families of the
highest nobility manifest some interest in the spiritual awakening, and
even show some proofs that they have not been unmoved by its
