the furthering of it; & a willingnesse to treat rather with the
Churches of great Brittane in it; then with any other: their resolutions
tend wholly to the framing of a fundamentall Confession; & I
expect y:t this winter a meeting will bee of the states of the
King-dome wherin some of the Chief of the Clergie will bee called
together y:t a full resolution may be taken in the worke. In the
meane tyrne the more vigourous beginne to remit much of their
violence & railing: & others beginne publickly in the pulpit to speake
favourablely of the scope of reconciliation: & some labour effectually
with me to dispose the state to undertake publickly the prosecuting
of it towards other Churches.

Thus, praised bee God, their [= there] is good hopes of
proceeding in due tyrne; & from hence a rise may bee taken perhaps
towards other parts to build upon the fondations w:ch are alreddie
laid. Their affection towards my purpose is somewhat increased by
this victory which God hath giuen them against the Saxon &
Im-periall forces: it is thought here, of very great moment: Banneer
hath written these particulars; y:t after the dissipation of the hostile
armye & the taking in of Werben; hee found of his folke 700
killed: 2000 common Souldiers wounded. 400 officers wounded: of
prisoners taken fro[m] the other side hee hadde reenforced his armye
with 4000 foot & 2500 horsemen: his resolution is to keep the
bodye of the armye together to follow the remnant of the Fugitifs
into Misnia; now hee is about Salts marching towards Halberstat;
& newes is come y:t hee hath taken 30 Cornets more of those y:t
were quartered there about. Feldmarshall Wrangel doth march with
another armye towards Silesia where the countrye oppressed for
Conscience is reddye to rise in armes with him & it is strongly
supposed y:t the Pole will either assist him or hee the Crowne of
Pole to renew their old pretence upon y:t countrye. In the meane
tyrne here are strong desires & consultations, how to bring matters
to a setled agreement: a commission is sent ouer to renew the
treaties to y:t effect; & the Duck of Mecklenburg who heretofore
did mediat for his owne interest in the cause is now sette a worke
from hence: & the Lord Chancelour doth intend to go ouer if there
bee any likelihood of bringing matters to a constant treatie. Thus
matters are here tending towards peace if it bee possible; so farre
as I can learne. Now the God of peace worke Peace in trueth &
righteousnesse to his owne glorie. I take my leaue & rest Yowr
Grace his

Most humble & obliged Seruant in Christ
Jhon Durye.
