Vestro mihi redditam. Explicui Phrases nostras, ex quibus ille
ma-teriam Dissidij elicere velie visus est: & deinde pfr Epistolam
sepa-ratam petij ab illo, ut siquid ulterius occurreret Dubij in illa
Ex-plicatione dignaretur mecum per Quæstiones & methodum legitimæ
consultationis, ad dubiorum solutionem, agere. Hoc enim videtur
ad Pacem tendere magis, quam illa ratio consveta imputandi Errores,
quos forte mens nostrarum Ecclesiarum vel non satis intellecta, vel
non satis explicata peperit apud Theologos Germaniæ, qui studijs
partium nonnihil occæcati, & clamoribus mutuis ita exurdati fuerunt,
ut sese invicem nec vera dicentes audire potuerint; nec falsa
di-centes corrigere voluerint. Hinc illæ jam lachrymæ & desolationes
quæ Germaniam oppresserunt miseram. Deus residuum Ecclesiæ
suæ conservet å contagione illius mali morbi & excitet Viros cordatos
qui audeant sana Pacis religiosæ Consilia, & proponere alijs, & ipsi
promovenda sibi vendicare, sine humanis respectibus. Ego scio me
mihi de summa T:æ R:tiæ Pietate & Eruditione omnia polliceri &
posse & debere, quæ ad bonam Conscientiam (in håc re & qualibet
alia procuranda ad publicum bonum) pertinent. Nihil ergo hisce
addam, sed rem totam Deo, Tuæque Prudentiæ (quoniam proxime,
ni fällor, ordo in Decanatu ad T. R. D. devolvitur,) commendo. Vale

1 am not very glad of the employment which Mr B: puts vpon
me for delivery of his Letter to the Chancelour and for delivering
to him by word of mouth a certaine message which is not very
acceptable, you knowe what S:r Tho[mas] wrote to me concerning his
busines, and you knowe what I have written both before and since
vnto him about the same matter. His busines doth spoyle my worke
and this he doth knowe, and yet he will make noe scruple to put
me vpon the extremity to deliver a peremtory message vnto the
Lord Chancelor in it which I knowe cannot be acceptable to him.
Is not this to Cast me vpon a rocke on all sides. For yf I deliver
not his message to the Lord Chancelour I loose him, and yf I de-
