But the man, who, during the conflict, had been
taught by the image, began to proclaim a new
doctrine called socialism, but which is an
antichristian-ity.
And that it loves and teaches and suffers and
denies itself as Christianity and is similar to it in all
respects, just as the false image from Aracoeli is in
all respects similar to the right image of Christ.
And like the false image, it says: "My kingdom is
only of this world." And although the image which
published the doctrine is obscure and unknown, the
same is not true of the doctrine, for that goes
through the whole world reforming and redeeming
it.
Day by day it is being spread. It passes through
all countries and bears many names, and is alluring
for the reason that it promises earthly happiness and
delight to all, and draws adherents more than
anything which has gone forth through the world since
the time of Christ.
