nor the opponents of the Reformation, Peter Galle,
Paul Heliae, and Hans Brask, made mention of any
such Anabaptist activities in Stockholm in 1524 or 1525.
In Kyrklig Tidskrift, 1896, Dean Herman
Lund-strom, after making thorough research, disposed of the
story as a pure fabrication.

The Council of Orebro passed resolutions
accentuating the necessity of preaching the Word of God in its
clearness and purity; in other respects its proceedings
made a compromise between the old and the new order
regarding church ceremonies and practices. This was
due partly to the conditions of the time, partly to the
wish of the king that the people be first instructed and
the reformation of the church order be undertaken in
the second place. On the one hand, the German
Lutherans in Stockholm, with their pastor, one Tileman,
took offense at this; on the other, the Romanists in the
country were further embittered and renewed their
plottings. Bishop Magnus of Skara, with Ture
Jons-son, judge of the district of Vastergotland, and others,
first fomented a revolt in the northern part of the
province of Smaland, against Gustav Vasa, whom they
called "the heretical king;" but when the peasantry of
Vastergotland, met on the heath of Larf, refused to
make common cause with them, the revolt subsided,
whereupon Bishop Magnus and Ture Jonsson left
Sweden. The Dalecarlians subsequently rose against
