151. The third Class has the following irregularities:
svær sverja { svarði svörðum sverði } svarit, to swear
sór sórum sœri
stend standa stoð -um stœði staðit, to stand
slæ slá sló -gum slœgi slegit, to strike
flæ flá fló -gum flœgi flegit, to flay
hlæ hlæja hló -gum hlœgi hlegit, to laugh
dey deyja -gum dœgi dáit, to die
spý spýja spjó -m spúit, to spit.

In the Sing. Imperf. we find, although rarely

        slóg, flóg, lóg, dóg.

The g is more frequently dropped in the Plur. of the Conj.
Imperfect, as:

slóum, dón, hlœi (Fms. 2, 152).

152. Some verbs are quite irregular in the plural of the
Imperfect, Indicative and Conjunctive, as:
vex vaxa óx uxum yxi vaxit, to wax, grow
eyk auka jók jukum jyki aukit, to increase
eys ausa jós jusum jysi ausit, to sprinkle
hleyp hlaupa hljóp hlupum hlypi hlaupit, to run, urge
búa bjó bjuggum bjyggi búit, to dwell
högg höggva hjó hjuggum hjyggi höggvit, to hew.

We also find óxum, hljópum, but this form is spurious,
as the Conjunct. œxi, hljœpi is not used, but only yxi,
hlypi,
which presupposes in the plur. of the Indicat. uxum,
hlupum.

153. The 1st form of the 3rd Class has also the following
irregular verbs:
finn finna fann fundum fyndi fundit, to find
bind binda batt bundum byndi bundit to bind
vind vinda vatt undum yndi undit to wind
sting stinga stakk stúngum stýngi stúngit to sting
spring springa sprakk sprúngum sprýngi sprúngit, to split
geld gjalda galt guldum gyldi goldit, to be worth, pay
skelf skjálfa skalf skulfum skylfi skolfit, to shake
hverf hverfa hvarf hurfum hyrfi horfit, to diminish.

The last are regular with the exception of the accent in skjàlfa, [[** NB vel annen aksent enn 2 linjer over?: dansk har acute i begge! **]]
such is also the auxilliary verb:

ek verð, at verða, varð, urðum, yrði, orðit.
