                                        MAIVS adhuc periculum in cavernosis montibus iter facientibus
                                        imminet: quia flatus, seu ventorum spiracula
Nives minutissimæ periculosiores.                                         adeo vehementia ibidem concursu minutarum nivium excitari
                                        videntur, vt, nisi comportatis sofforiis, sive ligonibus,
                                        quibus viam aperiant, vix adsit spes, qua exeant
Montium nomina                                        altissimos montes, & profundissimas valles. Montes igitur
                                        hi præcipui sunt, Doffra, Schars, Sula, Horvilla,
                                        cum multis similibus: de quorum radicibus, vel vmbilicis,
Flumina vastissima.                                         exeunt vastissima flumina, partim in Orientem, & partim
                                        in Occidentem. Perpetui enim montes, quasi linea
dorsotenus tracta, ab Austro in Septentrionem continuo gibbo ducuntur: nominaque
Nomina montium a pilosis bestiis. fortiuntur a provinciis, amnibus, vel forma locorum, vel bestiis versantibus
in eisdem, vt ab vrsis, lupis, & cervis, aut castoribus, & aliis animalibus omnimode
pilosis, quæ pro loci qualitate contra vim frigorum peroptime sunt vestita.
Leones, cameli, &c. non sunt in Aquilone. Ideoque leones, cameli, simeæ, asini, vel muli, vix eo portati supervivere possunt,
prout superius lib. primo de horribili frigore fuerat enarratum. Montes tamen hos
incolæ hyemis tempore domesticatis rangiferis quasi jugalibus cervis, oneribus non
exiguis
