476        DE CONDI. AQVIL. PO.

De nuptiis Illustrium, ac Nobilium personarum.

CAP. III.

NVPTIæ illustrium, ac nobilium personarum, magnis,
& claris, ac arduis conditionibus vetustissimo more
gentis, & generis celebrari solent. Inprimis vt providi
parentes vtrobique mores, & vitam ingeniosa charitate,
Consyderatio parentum erga conjugendos filios.                                         & sagacitate consyderent conjungendorum, scilicet ansponsus
tali claritudine & conspicuitate genitus sit, vel arvitate
virtuti & strenuitati comparandus, aut optima opinione
Conditiones notabiles.                                         illustrior aliquando evasurus. Item an vir patiens
fit in adversis, moderatus in prosperis, & quod difficilimum
Eruditio literarum perficit nobilitatem. potestatis genus est, olim rector sui. Præterea an in eo sit eruditio literarum.
quæ naturam laudabiliorem in eximia virtute reddit, quia per eam prudens invenit,
vnde sapientior fiat. Item bellator reperit, vnde animi virtute roboretur: & inde
Princeps accipit, quomodo populos sub æqualitate componat.
Hinc recte
judicare poterit, bonum sapere, divina venerari, futura cogitare judicia: hine
ornatu, & conjugali consortio copulanda, requiruntur, vt quasi e duobus
in auribus ornarentur, quia ibi turpe in fœmina, turpius in milite, & turpissimum
in Principe reputaretur.
Reges Indorum. Martyr in descriptione novi orbis meminit, videlicet
quod Reges, & magnates Indorum in
populo talem ornatum certatim
gestant in labiis
suis.
