                                        severam. admodum consecutus est naturam: in perniciem
                                        enim navigantium plerumque vltra navium antennas
                                        se extollit, haustosque fistulis fluctus supra caput collectos
                                        ita eructat, vt nimbosa allvuie plerunque naves fortissimasNaues fortissimaæ a beluis obruuntur.

dicitque: Physeterum magnitudines, fluctum maximum, & accumulatum, & caliginem
tantam reslationibus excitarunt, vt quæ ante pedes erant, conspici non possent. Sed
cum navigationis duces illis timentibus, & causam ignorantibus indicassent beluas
esse, quæ sacilem tubarum sonitu, & plausu exaudito discederent: (in quo Plinius concordat
lib. IX. cap. III. ) Nearchus naves in fluctum egit, qua maxime arcebatur,
ac tubis beluas exterruit. Illæ vndas subeuntes, navale certamen a puppi minabantur, Tubarum clangor terret beluas.
