Till uppbyggelse för de idrottsintresserade inom
SKF kan nämnas, att världsmästaren på cykel,
förste pristagaren vid de Olympiska Spelen i
Antwerpen, Harry Stenquist, under några veckor haft
sin bostad i S K F:s gästrum. Detta glädjande
budskap får förmodligen till följd, att när Sfären
kommer ut, skola S K F:s cykelåkande
springpojkar med vederbörlig respekt och vördnad nal-
kas det ställe där »han» — alla pojkars ideal — har
bott. Håll er väl med portiern, pojkar, så kanske
ni kan få se sängen, som han låg i.
Dessutom har den bekante motorcyklisten
ingeniör Malmberg från Huskvarna Vapenfabrik
gjort oss den äran, och samtliga gäster ha, såsom
vi redan framhållit, uttryckt sin belåtenhet med
arrangemangen.

ROBERT FLETCHER ROGERS
It is with the deepest regret that we announce
the death on May 16th of one of the most
brilliant and devoted collaborators whom the
Company has had abroad, Mr ROBERT FLETCHER
ROGERS, member of the Board of Directors of
the SKF Industries Inc. and for many years
the Company’s patent lawyer in the States.
Mr Rogers had been associated with the
Hess-Bright Manufacturing Co. ever since its
inception and was known to ball bearing interests all
over the world for the masterly way in which
he maintained the rights of the Conrad patent
in America, successfully defeating many attacks
on its validity.
To S K F he has, however, been much more
than a legal representative. As a Member of the
Board and advisor to the management he always
showed a keen and fruitful interest in all
Hess-Bright and SKF matters.
Those of the organisation who have had the
privilege of knowing Mr Rogers personally and
of working with him in America feel his death
as a great personal loss which gains an added
element of tragedy from the circumstance that
it should occur practically at the same moment
that the rights, which he has so valiantly defended
to the last, expire.
Mr Rogers was Senior Partner in the
well-known firm of Rogers, Kennedy & Campbell,
Counsellers in Patent Causes, Attorneys at Law,
of 15, Broad Street, New York.
