paa Ilovedga arden ved Eidsvolds Værk, V2 Mil fra
Kirken og Eidsvoldsbakken, ved Jernbanegaarden. Her
var det gamle EidsveUir, hvor det af Halfdan Svarte
i det 9de Aarhundrede indstiftede Eidsivathing
rimeligvis har været holdt.
52. Eidsvoldabygniiigen. I denne Bygning var
det at Rigsforsamlingen i 1814 holdt til og her var det
at Grundloven blev given og antaget. I Bygningen
findes nu en større Samling Portræter — det saakaldte
Eidsvoldsgalleri — der frembyder meget af Interesse.
53. Eidsvoldsbakken ligger i Nærheden af
Eidsvolds Kirke. Her blev for c. 40 Aar siden oprettet et
Badested, der i længere Tid hensygnede, men nu igjen
er kommet i Mode. Egnen og Omgivelserne er smuk,
og et prægtigt Jernbanehotel findes i Nærheden.
M j 0 s e n.
Mjøsen, Norges største Indsjø, har et Fladeindhold
af henved 3 □ Mil og er 9 Mil lang; den ligger 400
Fod over Havet. Dens største Dybde lige under den
høieste Del af Skr ei fjeldet, som løfter sin Granittop
2,000 Fod høit midtveis mellem Eidsvold og Hamar,
er funden at være 1,440 Fod; dens Bund ligger altsaa
over 1,000 Fod lavere end Havets Overflade og flere
Hundrede Fod lavere end Christiani a fjorden s Bund.
Mjøsens vigtigste Tilløb er Gudbrandslaiigen, og dens
Afløb er igjennem Vormen til Glommen. Hvor dens

tolerably well preserved and is deserving of being taken
notice of.
49. Fngernæs, in Valders, is beautifully situated
on the lovely Strandefjord and is made an hotel.
50. Nystuen «t Filefjeld is one of the few
„Fjeldstuer", or log-huts, which the State has caused
to be raised, and keeps in a habitable condition, for
belated travellers; the building itself, and the land
attached, are not worth much. There is certainly good
summer pasturage — several chalets lie scattered around
— but the summer is short, the winter long and
rigorous, and it is not everyone that cares to læ
posting-master here at such a time. When Knut Nystuen, a
few years since, was presented with the medal for
„Borgerdaad" (humane and patriotic deeds), it was
accompanied by the warmest thanks of the many, who,
had it not been for Gamle-Knut, and his bold,
venturesome lads, would have perished miserably on the wastes
of the fjelds, overtaken by the snow-storm, and buried
in the drifts. Nystuen is situated at the western
extremity of the Utrovandet (3,162 feet). The three long
buildings of which the farm consits are parallel with
the sides of the valley; they could not otherwise
withstand the violence of the winter tempests.
51. ISorgunds Church (Lærdal) is one of the
best preserved „Stavekirker" in the country. This
dark fantastic edifice, with heads of dragons on the
numerous gables, enclosed by frowning fjelds, conveys
a strange impression to the beholder. It is worthy of
a closer inspection: the church keys can be obtained
at the neighbouring farm of Kirkevold. Close to the
