THE SWEDISH ELECTROTECHNICAL
COMMITTEE

is at present an organization for two joint purposes:
the international I. E. C. work and the national
standardization. It has 21 members, representatives of
The Swedish Society of Electrical Engineers
(Svenska Elektro ingen jörsföreningen), 7 members; The
Swedish Electrical Manufacturers Association
(Sveriges Elektroindustriförening), 7 members; The
Swedish Electricity Producers Association (Svenska
Elektricitetsverksföreningen), 1 member; The
Electrical Contractors Association (Elektriska
Entre-prenörsföreningen), 1 member; The Royal Board of
Waterfalls (Kungl. Vattenfallsstyrelsen), 1 member;
The Royal Board of Telegraphs (Kungl.
Telegrafstyrelsen), 1 member; The Royal Board of State
Railways (Kungl. Järnvägsstyrelsen), 1 member; The
Royal Board of Trade (Kungl. Kommerskollegium),
2 members.

Further, there are 21 deputy members,
represen-tating the same organizations.

The Committee, when doing I. E. C. work, is called
the Svenska Elektrotekniska Kommittén, or SEK,
(Swedish Electrotechnical Committee); and, when
working on national standardization, the Elektriska
Standardiseringskommittén, or ESK
(Electrotechnical Standards Committee). It has a number of
subcommittees, partially composed of members who
are not on the main Committee. Some of these
subcommittees are at the same time acting as standing
committees of the Society of Electr. Engineers. The
organization, which is of a preliminary nature, is
thus somewhat complicated, due to the amalgamation
of different interests and purposes. Having a double
purpose, the Committee has also two presidents, one
for the I. E. C. work, the other for the
standardization work and each acts as vice president to the
other. Besides, there can be another couple of vice
presidents, only one of which at present is
functioning. Two general secretaries are at work, one
for SEK, the other for ESK.

In order to facilitate the work and to speed up the
dealing with the different proposals of the
subcommittees a Committee of Action is formed for the ESK
activities, consisting of ten of the main Committee
members.

The board and members of the Swedish
Electro-technical Committee (SEK) are named below.
