I ovanstående uppskattning har avsiktligt
ingenting nämnts om kapitalkostnaderna,
eftersom deras storlek till stor del bestämmes av
sättet för finansieringen och avskrivningspolitiken.
Även utan att inräkna dessa står det ganska klart,
att en svensk tillverkning av buna-S skulle få
stora svårigheter att klara sig i konkurrens med
naturgummit, som för närvarande noteras i ett
pris av 1,60—1,90 kr/kg för de bättre
kvaliteterna. Men den tämligen ringa prisdifferens, som
här antydes, och som en noggrannare kalkyl
säkrare kan fastlägga, bör inte ensam få dominera
vårt ställningstagande till det syntetiska
gummit. Gummits ökade betydelse i den moderna
tekniken och naturgummiplantagernas stora
militära sårbarhet, samt önskvärdheten av att följa
utvecklingen på detta område, motiverar mer än
väl ett ökat intresse för det syntetiska gummit —
ett intresse, som även tar sig uttryck i en
förberedande målforskning.
