machine, and two machines for making pulp out of timber waste. The product
amounts to 7,000 tons bleached sulphite wood pulp yearly. Jn consequence of its
fine quality, the Konga wood pulp is specially suitable for the manufacture of high-grade
paper, artificial silk and cellulose wadding.

The Wood pulp mill employs 214 workmen.
The saw mills, which, in 1915, were entirely rebuilt, embraces two frames, two
edging machines, two circular saws (large), two circular saws (laths) and a planing
machine. The yearly produce amounts to 3,000 standards deals, battens and boards,
staves, lists and lathes and planed boards, the whole of which is sold for export. In
addition, 2,000 standards props are sawn every year. The hands number 80.
For the utilization of the saccarine products in the waste lye from the sulphite
mills, the Company has built a sulphite spirit distillery, which manufactures 300,000
litres (about 72,000 gallons) of ethyl alcohol every year.
The Company also pursues agriculture on a large scale on its own estates.
