NISSASTROMS AKTIEBOLAG

(THE NISSASTROM COMPANY, LTD.)

HISTORY.

IN 1888. Viscount W. «C. Stjernstedt acquired the Grumshult waterfall, in the River
_ Nissaan. Enslov parish, Halland, in the south-west of Sweden, for the purpose of
establishing a factory there for the production of mechanical wood pulp. The
following year, the ownership of the falls was transferred to the newly established Nissastrom
Company, which carried out the development of the falls and the erection of the wood
pulp factory of the same name The Company’s share-capital was then only 60.000
kronor. At first nothing was made but wood pulp, but the business has, since the
above-mentioned date, been extended and now embraces also the manufacture of paste
hoard. The capital lias been increased to 225,000 kronor and the various funds
amount to 190.000 kronor.
