The Dam.
THE WORKS.
The Company’s factory has been several times enlarged and brought on a level
with the requirements of the times, in proportion with the increased demand for the
firm’s productions. At the present day it is equipped with the most up-to-date
machinery, which includes 3 cold grinders, 2 refiners, 9 board machines, 3 glazing
machines, 2 friction-glazing machines, 2 drying machines, sorting apparatus, cutting
machines and other machines appertaining to a well-found wood pulp- and pasteboard
works. A further extension is in contemplation.
The raw material for the Company’s products is acquired by purchase, chiefly in
the forest districts of the province of Småland, in the south of Sweden. The timber
is transported to the works by floating down the River Nissan, and care is taken
that it is always of firm texture and good quality, this contributing in a high degree
to the excellent character of the Company’s manufactures.
MANUFACTURES.
The yearly production amounts to about 1,700 tons of brown paste board and 1,000
tons of dry mechanical wood pulp. Both dry and wet brown and wet white wood pulp
