Hillringsberg Saw Mill.
The Sulphite-spirit works at Billerud produce 500,000 litres of (96 %) spirits annually.
Electricity is also used here to drive the works. There are 10 men employed.
The Slottsbron spirit factory manufactures 700,000 litres of (96 %) spirits annually.
It is also driven by electricity and employs 10 men.
Saw- and Planing-Mills.
The company’s largest saw-mill is at Gruvon in the parish of Grums on Lake
Venern, 1 kilometre from Grums Railway Station. By floating timber down the river
Norsalven, this saw-mill obtains its supplies from all the company’s wooded properties in
the Fryksdalen water-shed. Timber is also floated from the basin of Lake Varmeln
via Borgviks Bruk to the saw-mill at Gruvon. This saw-mill is at present being rebuilt
and modernized and will have 6 frames and 2 planers. It will have an annual
production of 10,000 standards of sawn and planed wooden goods. The shipping marks
