some good hunters. He selected Sparrestrom, Tiffany
and several others, besides myself. We went to Dwight,
Ill., and had good sport. So far as I know, I am the
only survivor of this party.
Sparrestrom came from Stockholm. He was in the
Royai Life Guards at the same time as Charles XV.,
and had served in various capacities. He was a splendid
horseman. After the war he lived on Chicago avenue,
near Sedgwick street, Chicago, and had no occupation
in particular. He went to Colorado and there died. A
daughter, Vendela, married Scheleen, at one time
publisher of a Swedish newspaper in Rockford. Mrs.
Scheleen, now a widow, resides in Chicago.
Although 76 years of age, I still am in the mail
service at Edgewater, Chicago.
