4. District of New Zealand.
This zone includes the subantarctic part of the South Island
together with the islands south of it. With Engler we divide it
into three provinces. Recently I got a letter from the skilful
con-noiçseur of New Zealand^vegetation, Dr. L. Cockayne, who is discussing
the difficulty of finding a^imit for subantarctic flora in these latitudes.
