LIVELY Arts (Thursdays). A weekly
review of cultural development in
Canada.
DISCOVERING CANADA (Sundays).
This series continues to investigate
and explore various aspects of the
Canadian countryside, and the activi-
ties of its people, through the voices
of Canadians, themselves.
Discussion Group (Tuesdays). Dis-
cussion groups in Vancouver, Halifax,
Montreal and Ottawa, take turns in
discussing subjects of current interest
in their own particular region.

CANADIANA (Tuesdays). Feb. 1,
“Deep River”, the last in a series of
four talks on the Canadian Northwest
by Pierre Berton. Feb. 8, ‘The Delta
Research Station”, a talk by Mary
Elizabeth Flanders of Winnipeg, on
the Canadian counterpart of the
Audubon Society which feeds, iden-
tifies, and protects bird life. Feb. LS),
"Gold Mine”, by Mary Elizabeth
Flanders. Feb. 22, “Josiah Henson”,
a talk by Athol Stewart on the famous
Negro slave on whom the character
of Uncle Tom was based, who escaped

ANTHOLOGY (Saturdays). Feb. 5, a
special program of selections chosen
by E. K. Brown of the University of
Chicago in commemoration of Archi-
bald Lampman’s death. Feb. 12, 19,
and 26, Earle Birney returns to this
series to read and comment on cur-
rent Canadian poetry.
CHURCH News (Sundays). Reports by
leading churchmen on the activities of
Canadian religious organizations.
WOMEN IN THE NEW Wor tp (Thurs-
days). Feb. 3 opens a series of pro-
grams On women’s clubs in Canada.
The first program in this series is a
talk, “Why Do Canadian Women Join
Clubs ?”, written and narrated by
Margaret Barnard. Feb. 10, ‘‘Busi-
ness and Professional Women’s Clubs”
by Marjorie Scott. Feb. 17, "The
Zonta Club” by Marjorie Scott. Feb.
23, “The Junior League” by Zoé Bieler.
