During September Canadians discuss
the ways in which they spend or have

The Canadian Story (Mondays).
This series presents legends, stories
and descriptions of outstanding his-
torical episodes as well as pictures of
the present Canadian scene. September
5, “Monsters that Mine the Klon-
dyke” by Pierre Berton of Toronto;
September 12, ‘‘A Child on the Cana-
dian Prairies” by Kathleen Bowker
of Montreal who reminisces about her
childhood and girlhood spent on the
Prairies; September 19, ‘‘Riding
Rhythms” a description of some of
her riding experiences on the Prairies
by Kathleen Bowker; September 26,
“Prairie Trails” by Kathleen Bowker.
Tuesday Talks Series (Tuesdays).
During the month of September this
series features four talks on some
aspect of Canadian life of particular
interest to overseas listeners.
Women in the New World (Satur-
days). This series of programs is
dedicated to women’s interests in
Mary Elizabeth Flanders covers a variety of
subjects, such as books, history and wildlife,
in programs directed to the United Kingdom.

Musical Programs
Evening Recital (Thursdays). <A
series of performances by outstanding
Canadian artists.
Folk Songs (Tuesdays). Canadian

comments upon their origin.
Prairie Schooner (Sundays). Mem-
ories of Canadian pioneer days are
recalled by means of songs and dances
by Jimmy Gowler and his orchestra
from Winnipeg.
Drama
A Tale of Toronto (Mondays).
Everyday life and problems expe-
rienced by a family living in a large
Canadian city are related in this
series of dramatic episodes written by
George Salverson and produced by
International Service producer Peter
Francis of Toronto.
