" Thank you, little bird," I said. " It is a
piteous tale. Perhaps some of your
companions here know some other little stories
not quite so distressing, to tell another time."
" That we do," cried several at once.
" Well, my young friends, shall we return at
some future time to hear more fabled stories in
the Zoo ? " I asked.
" That depends upon papa and mamma,"
said the boys, " if they approve of the stories
you have told us."
