hybrids. This difference must be due to the fact, that the triploid
hybrids form seven I I’s from Ihe 14 Whitneyi chromosomes present,
while the diploid hybrids show a complete or nearly complete
asvn-desis. In diploid G. WhitneyiX. G. deflexa the I’s in inöst p.m.c.’s form
an equatorial plate, though often this plate was somewhat irregulär
because »die Chromosomen in etwas verschiedener Höhe liegen» and
some chromosomes often are lying at a greater distance from the plate.
Only möre rarely one or two I’s divide, in most cases undivided I’s
