I Take the liberty of continuing in this Letter my mif-
cellaneous remarks on this country, which, I expeét,
you muft receive with no {mall degree of indulgence, as
many of them are the refult of hafty obfervation. I
would not have it underf{tood that the Swedifh Ladies, in
general, are difgufting to an Englifh tafle. There are
many whofe education and accomplifhments are as dif-
tinguifhed as their birth, and whofe affable temper and
difpofition render them perfe€ily amiable. Thefe qualifi-
cations a flranger to their language cannot always enjoy.
They poflefs no fmall fhare of vivacity, wit, and affability,
with many other accomplifhments ; andto thefe we muft
add, the greateft delicacy of manners. *Tis true their
mode of drefs appears at firft fight rather fingular to a
firanger, as in fome degree divefling them of elegance;
but that [oon wears off and’ becomes reconciled to us by
fafhion, the modern correétor of all abfurdities. In honor
