its beatifully carved ceiling,
and quaint old pulpit. There
are two galleries in the church,
which has accomodation for
nearly 1000 people. The
services as a rule are well
attended. The vicar (rector) is a
very popular man and a good
preacher. The curate is not
so well liked, he is a little
conceited and thinks too much

The old churchyard is very
picturesque with large shady
trees, and old tombstones

We have two Elementary
Schools, one Higher
(Secondary) School for boys and one
for girls.
Our town can also boast of
a Museum with a picture
gallery, antiquities from the
Stone Age (Bronze Age, Iron
Age), and utensils from olden
times.
So-called Modern Art is not
represented at all, so our
futurists and cubists, who
depict Nature in their own
fanciful way, would hardly
approve of the collections. We
are not educated up to them
yet.
