Everything went on so smoothly on his own

quite happy. Everything whichmight have brought
differences and hate in other places passed there
without pain or dismay. Everything was just as it
should be. And if the master of the house longed
to live as a cavalier at Ekeby, what did it matter?
Is there any use in bewailing that the sun sinks
every evening in the west and leaves the world in
darkness? Who is invincible without submissiveness?
Who can conquer without patience?
