At Luleå the longest summer day is slightly, more than 23 hours, and at Stockholm 18½ hours reckoned from sunrise to sunset. Any country within the Artie Circle may be called »Land of the Midnight Suns, but with the exception of the Scandinavian countries these regions are practically uninhabited, being also rather cold, even in the middle of summer. Scandinavia is an exception to this rule.
