Johnstone, James, er f. i Skotland. Han studerede først i
Edinburgh, Glasgow og Cambridge og kom derefter til Kbh. som
Præst ved den engelske Legation. 1783 rejste han hjem til Eng-
land, men kom s. A. tilbage til Kbh. 1784 blev han Medlem af
det genealogiske og heraldiske Selskab. Senere vendte han til-
bage til sit Fædreland, hvor han f 1798.
