supposed to make a radio report on our trip
immediately upon our arrival in Stockholm. Shortly before
we landed at Bromma he asked me to read through
the script. It ended with a very dramatic picture of
our visit to the Yugoslav mass grave. The climax
of his story was that the bodies had not been buried
deep enough, and that feet protruded from the earth.
This was, I said, a detail which had apparently
escaped me. When I inquired if this was really the
case, he exclaimed: ”No, but it makes such a striking
finale for my story!”
