Respected & dear friend,
Among the many subjects of conversation while you were last
in Stockholm, you may perhaps remember, that I took the liberty
of recommending to your favour a young man named Alen’, who
has offered himself as a Missionary, & for that purpose wishes to
be sent to the Missionary Seminary at Basel, but was desired by
Count Rosenblad first to take Studentexamin. Having finished his
course at the Gymnasium of Carlstad, he now presents this note to
you; and it would be of great service to him if besides the official
advantages offered by the University, he could have the privilege of
friendly intercourse with one or more truly pious persons who could
teach him the way of the Lord more perfectly. He is, I doubt
not, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, but is only a novice.
May I hope, some time or other to be favoured with a few
lines from your hand. If you have not hitherto remembered
Klockaren Palmqvist’s request regarding Social Meetings for edification
perhaps you will kindly do so now.
I sent a considerable time ago (pr Packet posten) a few
pamphlets etc. which I hope you safely received.
Excuse great haste, and begging to be remembered to all who
may care to be remembered by me.

I största hast nödgas jag besvara ditt kärkomna bref af den
14de dennes. Gerna wille jag råkat dig personligen för att
up-riktigt tala om ett och annat som jag icke rätt förstår, och önskade
få reda på, men en annan tid kommer då du visserligen förnyar
ditt besök till Staden och då blir tillfälle. Tack emedlertid för
