A planta Europaea vix recedens: Folia caulina 2—4
ellip-tico-lanceolata, utrinque leviter tridentata; calathia
cano-floc-cosa, stylus livido-fuliginosus. Hue pertinere videtur
speci-mina Kaneana nomine H. mollis Pursh. sequenti modo
de-scripta (Dur. pi. Kan. Nr. 51): «18—20" high, stem erect,
naked above, with a corymb of 3—4 large capitles. Radical
leaves petiolate, attenuate at both ends, with a few remote
and obscure mucronate teeth from the base to the middle,
