So far the prophecy of the Swedish Minister
had been fulfilled, I had been an easy winner.

serious rival who had just then taken up his
practice in Rome. I was told and I believe it
was true that it was my rapid success which had
made him give up his lucrative practice in ——

his rise was as rapid as my own had been. He
