Towards the Light
Hark, child of earth ! A chime
of silver bells
Descends to thee from starry
worlds above,
While gentle fragrances enchant
thy sense.
The darkness dies. ... A radiant
light appears.
Behold the ambient flame en-
circling thee,
That flame of living light — it
is my soul !
My voice now whispers gently
in thine ear
:
I too was once a mortal such as
thou. .
