3. PROTULA GRÆCA BRULL.

Jeg har intetsteds fundet denne Art beskrevet.
Tegningen er formodentlig udført af Brullé paa den franske
Ex-peditinn til Morea i 1827. Dannelsen af Thorax er meget
forskjellig fra den næstforegaaende Arts. Tegningen af Dyret
maa være udført efter en anden Maalestok end Tegningen af
Skallen, der meget ligner Skallen af S. fascicularis Lam.,
Delessert.
4. PROTULA MEDIA STIMPS.
Tubes large cylinclrical, rather tliick and strong, marked with
indistinct lines of growth, irregularly and variably contortcd, and
adhering throughout their length, o/ten 6 inch es or more in length,
with a diam. at tlie aperture of i of an inch.
Auiin al pale yellowish; disk (thorax) broad, membranous,
ve ry thin and delicate, with a scalloped margin, and extending
much beyond the extremities of bristles of the 7 segments it
occu-pies. On the succeeding 40 to 50 segments there are no
long-bristles, while those of the last 20 segments are very long- and
haire like. Branchial plumes (Fangetraadene) moderately large, of
a very pale yellowish tint. The tentacula of each are about 36 in
nuinber, arranged in a spiral of one turn and a quarter, with a
thin raised membrane encircling their bases within (Stimpson).

Hab. It is dredged on muddy and gravelly bottoms in the
coralline zone, attached almost invariably to dead valves of Pecten
Magellanicus (Stimpson).
Denne Art maa efter Beskrivelsen være meget lig P.
Rudolphi Risso. Navnet skal bringe i Erindring, at Arten
især er almindelig paa et Sted under 45° N.B., altsaa midt
imellem Polen og Æquator.
