From these Tables are found the following results.
In 1876, the depth of water evaporated was 42.mm98
in 273.5 hours, or, on an average, 0.mm157 per hour zr
3.mm77 in 24 hours.
From the observations taken exclusively in the
day-hours (from about 9 o’clock in the morning to 9 o’clock
in the evening) and those taken exclusively in the
night-hours, we find that of the whole amount of water
evaporated during the day and night, 56 per cent was
evaporated in the day-hours and 44 per cent in the night-
