years? — No, that was in Nr. Reuter’s favour.
On the one hand is the duration of the concession
whici 1 talked of, 30 years, tvhich is a point in
his favour.
1939. „And on the other to the terms of
your agreements with the Electric and Interna
tional, and Indo - European Companies." How
long do you suppose those to be?— Ten years.
1910. „And to the precarious character of
submarine property I am instrueted to offer to
you the following terms of purchase “ It is the
great prccariousness of submarine property, is
it? — lt makes a considerable dijferen e, in my
view, of ihe value of the property.
1941. What is precariousness ot the sub
marine property? what does it cofisist in? —
lt was admitted i at t’:e cable had a life ofdbout
16 years, and this cable, I am instrueted, is two
years old, so that, probably, it has only got 13
years to run.
1942. That is what you based your calcu
lation upon, that 10,000 l. a year would cover
the whole working expenses of all the subma
rine lir.es? — That is not the cost of making
f.em again at all, that is merely the working and
maintennnce.
1943. That is valuable as throwing light
upon your financial operations; then when you

De har læst den sidste Del af mit Brev; dersom De
vil have den Godhed at læse den første Del deraf
kort , det hele Brev, hvoraf De har læst et Cilat,
vil muligens min virkelige Mening blive tydelig.
1938. „Til Svar paa Brevene af 6te Juli
som respektive ere henvendte til mig og Hr.
Ashurst*) af Dem og Hr. Bompas, har jeg den
Ære at underrette Dem om, at i Betragtning af
paa den ene Side Yarigheden af Deres Konces
sion“— den troede De var 10 Aar? — Nei, den
var i Favør af Hr. Reuter. Paa den ene Side
er Yarigheden af Koncessionen, hvorom jeg talte,
30 Aar, hvilket er et Punkt til hans Fordel.
1939. „Og paa den anden Side Tidstermi
nerne i Deres Ovcrenskomster med Electric and
International og Indo-European Co.“ Hvor lange
autager De disse er? — Ti Aar.
1940. „Og den prekaire Beskaffenhed af sub
marin Eiendom, er jeg paalagt at tilbyde Dem
følgende Kjøbsvilkaar." Det er altsaa paa Grund
af den meget prekaire Beskaffenhed af submarin
Eiendom? — Det gjør efter min Anskuelse en be
tydelig Forskjel i Eiendommens Værdi.
1941. Hvilken er den prekaire Beskaffenhed
af den submarine Eiendom? Hvori bestaar den?
— Det blev antaget, at Kablen havde en Varig
hed af omtrent 15 Aar, og denne Kabel er jeg
oplyst om var to Aar gammel, saa at den sand
synligvis blot vil vare i 13 Aar endnu.
1942. Det var derpaa De byggede Deres
Beregning, at 10,000 Lstr. aarligt vilde dække
alle de submarine Liniers samtlige Driftsomkost
ninger? — Det er aldeles ikke, hvad det koster
at istandbringe dem igjen, det er blot til Driften
cg Vedligeholdelsen.
1943. Det er en vævdifuld Oplysning, for
saavidt den kaster Lys over Deres Finantsopera
