through their accounts; håving gone through their
accounts, do not you know that they show that
they have a Capital of 1,200,000 l.t — 1 wish to
answer every question you put to me ; but the effect
of the examination would be this: you ivould gra
dually get item after item from me, iill there only
remained the matter to be left to arbitration.
2432. Mr. Gosc h e n. Have you made any
further inquiry into the matter as to the cost of
repairs and maintcnance of line and soforth? —
1 have taken out the maintenance and repairs from
t e accounts which you have got thismorning, and
out of the 330,000 L, 1 see that OlftOO l. is set
dom for maintenance and repairs of land lines,
that does not include anything for the cables.
2433. Then I think in your maximum, or
in your mosjt favourable estimate, you make the
working expenditure about 380,000 1.7 — Yes.
2434. And in your minimum estimate you
make the expenditure 291,000 /.? — Yes, there
being no prouision there for increase of business,
as no increase of business is taken for granted..

er saa nær isProccnt som muligt? — Sandsyn-
Ugvis er det saa; jeg er ikke ganske vis.
2367. Saa at dette vilde give os for Elec
tric Telegraph Co. alene 3,200,000 Lstr. — Jeg
kan ikke paatage mig at give nogen Oplysning
med Hensyn til nogen enkelte Punkter i Over
slaget.
2368. De sagde os, at De havde gjennem
gaaet deres Regnskaber; da De har gjennemgaaet
deres Regnskaber, ved De da ikke, at de vise, at de
have en Kapital af 1,200,000 Lstr.?— Jeg vilde gjerne
besvare eihvert Spørgsmaal, De retter til mig; men
Følgen af Examinationen vilde være denne : De
vilde gradvis faa Punkt for Punkt ud af mig,
indlil der ikke blev andet end Sagen igjen atovcr
give til Voldgift.
2432. Hr. Goschen. Har De foretaget
nærmere Undersøgelser i Sagen med Hensyn til
Omkostningerne ved Rcparationer og Vedli
geholdelse af Linien o. s. v.? — Jeg har udtaget
Vedligeholdelsen og Peparationerne af de Pegn
skaber, som De har faavt i Morges, og af de
330,000 Lstr. ser jeg, at 01,000 Lstr. er opført
for Vedlige’oldelse og Peparationer afLandlinier;
dette indbefatter Intel for Kablerne.
2433. Såa tror jeg, at De i Deres Maximum
eller Deres mest gunstige Overslag sættor Drifts
omkostningerne til omtrent 380,000 Lstr.? — Ja.
2434. Og i Deres Minimumsoverslag sætter
De Udgifterne til 291,000 Lstr.? — Ja, idet der
ikke er opført Noget for Forretningens Forøgelse,
eftersom ingen Forøgelse i Forretningen er for
udsat.
