The years immediately following the Great War

The high level of commodity prices and the great
slump resulted in a collapse of values,which in
some instances disappeared altogether. Commod-
ity prices, which in 1920 soared to a height more
than four times that of 1913, fell rapidly. The
same state of unrest was reflected in rates of
exchange:
