In 1932 they gave employment to 105,691 fishermen, who used for this purpose 10,869 decked motor-vessels, 10,527 open motor- boats, 364 steam-vessels, and 269 decked sailing boats. To this fleet were attached many thousands of open boats (non-engined). The fisheries are carried on all the year round along the entire coast. Each variety of fish has its own special season. Fishing is also prosecuted beyond Norwegian territorial waters in the North Sea, the Norwegian Sea, and off Svalbard, Iceland, and Greenland. 140
