The Norwegian Labour party founded in 1887, and the Norwegian Social-Democratic Labour Party founded in 1921. In 1923 the Labour Party refused to approve the conditions for continued co-operation laid down by Moscow. The consequence was that the Norwegian Labour Party was excluded by the Moscow International in that year. The further result of this was that the Communistic minority in the Labour Party withdrew from the latter and formed in 1923 the Norwegian Communistic Labour Party. This gave three socialistic labour parties in Norway. In 1927 the Norwegian Labour Party and the Norwegian Social-Democratic Party resolved to join forces and form The United Norwegian Labour Party.
